Some frequently asked questions about a family fishing trip...
What should I bring and wear?
Everything you need to fish with is provided. You need to bring
a lunch, camera, binoculars, sunscreen, sunglasses, warm clothes
and soft soled shoes. If you forget anything, let us know, we usually
have some spares on the boat. If it might rain you should bring
rain gear, but the cabin is covered and you can go inside anytime.
It's best to dress in layers so you can peel some off when it gets
warm, or put some on if it cools off.
Will we still go if the weather
is bad? If the water is too rough for safety we will reschedule
or cancel. If it's raining, we'll still go. The boat has a covered
and heated cabin so you can get out of the rain if necessary. Around
here we can't let a little rain stop us.
How far out do we go to fish?
The Strait of Juan de Fuca is protected waters with no ocean swells.
You will be fishing within sight of land, a mile or less off shore.
The average travel time to the fishing grounds is 15 to 30 minutes.
How old do you have to be to fish?
All ages are welcome. We have taken people from 1 year to 95 years
of age.
How long does the trip last?
Standard trips last up to six hours from check in time till you
return to the dock. We offer 4 hour trips for those so inclined.
All charters can be structured to meet your time schedule.
What is the maximum number of people on
the boat? The boat is comfortable with
six passengers but large enough to handle a few more.
